Wisden overview A precautionary presence in the national squad, Anwar Hossain is a competent wicketkeeper at domestic level, whose opportunities are likely to be limited while Khaled Mashud maintains form and fitness. Mashud's injury in Zimbabwe forced part-timer Mehrab Hossain behind the stumps, and the selectors are naturally keen to avoid a repeat performance. Anwar has impressed on his rare occasions, however. Opening the innings on his ODI debut, he anchored Bangladesh's innings with a gritty 42, at Dhaka in 2002-03. Andrew Miller
