Traditionally numerous sponsors offer packages for international tours in Sri Lanka. These cover Title sponsorship, Boundary line tape, Local TV/Radio broadcasting rights and local product and memorabilia selling rights.
Although such sponsorships were limited to tours undertaken by national teams, new ground was broken when HSBC agreed to sponsor the Sri Lanka Under-19 team and the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2006.
In recent years, several organizations have come forward to sponsor domestic tournaments. Among them are Sirasa (Premier League & ODI tournaments), and Prima Noodles (Under-13 Inter-District Tournament).
High quality official tour publications are produced for international cricket events using the expertise of Cricinfo, to provide the spectators with necessary information and to generate additional revenue.
The quarterly newsletter 'Score' and its Sinhala version 'Cricket Handa' record news relating to Sri Lanka Cricket and is distributed free within and outside the country.
The SLC website is maintained in partnership with Cricinfo. |
