Division One

Worcestershire were well ahead of the asking rate when rain ended their clash against Gloucestershire. It had already been reduced to a 30-over game and Vikram Solanki and Stephen Moore had powered Worcestershire to 74 without loss in the 13th over their chase. Worcestershire's spinners had restricted Gloucestershire's middle order, with Gareth Batty's and Ray Price's 12 overs costing 53 runs.

Nottinghamshire's game against Northamptonshire was abandoned after just 4.2 overs.

Division Two

Darren Maddy carried Leicestershire to an easy seven-wicket win over Scotland, striking an aggressive, unbeaten 95 from 100 balls. HD Ackerman gave him good support with 38 as Leicestershire cantered home with nine overs to spare. Claude Henderson earlier took 3 for 25 to restrict Scotland to 166 for nine, despite Ryan Watson's 70.

Sussex ran out comfortable 48-run winners against Surrey in a match reduced to 22 overs per side. Luke Wright's 35 from 14 balls helped propel Sussex to a Twenty20 style total of 219 for nine, while Murray Goodwin made 44. Mushtaq Ahmed then took 4 for 36 as Surrey fell well short.

Graeme Smith guided Somerset home in a 16-over match with Kent at Canterbury. The rain which effect the Lord's Test also reached the St Lawrence Ground and when play began Andrew Caddick bowled a superb spell, taking 4 for 12 from his four overs. Chasing 91, Smith made 56 from 44 as Somerset reached their target with ease.

Neil Carter produced one his one-day firework displays as he blitzed the Yorkshire attack around Scarborough. When Carter fell for 65 from 38 balls Warwickshire were 82 for 1 and comfortably on course. Jonathan Trott played a much more leisurely knock to seal the result. Yorkshire's 201 for 7 was never going to be enough on the outground. Michael Lumb top-scored with 57 and Ian Harvey made a run-a-ball 47.
