Profile
Steve Barwick made his county debut back in 1981 as a fast
medium seam bowler and two years later took a career best 8-42
against Worcestershire at the New Road ground. He was award-
ed his county cap in 1987 and in the early 1990`s decided to
concentrate on off-cutters, very much in the style of the
legendary Don Shepherd. In recent years, Barwick`s appearances
were restricted to one day games, but even so, he was one of
the country`s most economical bowlers in limited overs games, and
his accurate bowling and subtle changes of pace and spin, were
instrumental in Glamorgan`s success in one day cricket. He took a
well deserved Benefit in 1995, and was released from the staff at
the end of the 1996 season.
