Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins: "We've had a lot of fun and played some really great cricket. It's satisfying and exciting [to be in the latter stages]. A few of these guys haven't played in finals before - I havent't played in finals before. We still don't know who we are playing but we are excited.
His reaction to being told it was raining in Guwahati, where Royals need to beat KKR to reclaim second spot and avoid the Eliminator match: "That's a shame..."
Player of the match is, of course, Abhishek Sharma for his 66 from 28 deliveries which capped off a regular season run of 467 runs struck at 209.41: "It's just a matter of time for any batsmen, when they realise it's there time. My days are going good and I thought I should utilise it for my team. The hard work I put in before this season is helping me now.
"I was talking to Nitish about Harshal. The more I was waiting for him it was getting a bit easier for me because I've seen him getting lots of wickets in the middle overs."
Heinrich Klaasen, fresh from his 42 off 26, is in good spirits: "I will defintiely be supporting KKR tonight. We will definitely be awake and supporting KKR!
"I haven't hit it nicely over a period of time so I went back into the nets and tried to figure it out. I'm finally hitting one or two today which has put a smile on my face.
"I was moving way to much. And then I found something and challenged myself the other day in the nets against the spinners and something clicked again. Finally it came back." Perfect timing for the post season...
7.20pm: So, Sunrisers' have done their bit. Victory for now puts them second and there's further good news for them with rain delaying the toss for Rajasthan Royals against Kolkata Knight Riders. Royals need a win to reclaim second and avoid the Eliminator.
Matthew: "One more twist in store? Super Over time?" Oooof, imagine... just 4 needed from 6. Surely it's a given for Sunrisers??
Steps down, swings through the ball but was looking for a boundary rather than the fielder at wide long off
Sanvir gives himself room to try and carve through the off side but can't breach the ring
Another arm ball from Brar off a length, another single taken down the ground
Skidding into the body, worked awkwardly but effectively down to long on
Bowled him! Klaasen decides now is the time for some touch play and attempts to ramp Brar's straight delivery. The field had changed to get him to do something different - man up on the 45, with both straight fielders set back - and he does just that. Alas, he gets nothing on the ball and watches on in horror his stumps light up
An ungainly hack from Samad to this arm ball, but he'll take the single into the leg side
It's now 41 200-plus totals in IPL 2024, the second-most in any T20 tournament, behind the 42 in the 2023 T20 Blast.
Another skiddy googly, worked down the ground for a single to keep the strike
Charges and goes big down the ground! Powerful strike with exceptional use of the feet to get him to the pitch of a length delivery.
Cut hard, but straight to backward point
Lovely googly... almost finds the stumps but Klaasen's big bat squeezes it away off the inside edge
Flatter, shorter, spinning off the track into leg stump, met with the full face to get a single into midwicket
Thick edge squirts out to point as Samad is done by a leggie
Off the mark immediately, tucking one into midwicket as he steps across to a length delivery just outside off stump
Abdul Samad is the new batter with 18 needed from 19...
An unconvincing knock comes to an end! It's needed an excellent catch from Shashank, who does brilliantly to take it low at cover, diving forward to his right to claim.
Length, top off off, played off the inside half of the bat but with enough force to find a single at midwicket
Another bumper to Klaasen, and a second that's a little too high
Ninad: "@Virs: They have already jumped the law of averages loop in the middle phase of tournament! Thats how good they have been"
Driven on the up as Arshdeep goes back to over the wicket. This time Shashank gets right behind the ball!
That's got through! Around the wicket from Arshdeep, punched off the back foot with so much power that it does for the fielder at extra cover
Another glorious drive from Klaasen, waiting for this full ball across him before timing sweetly. The fielder at cover dives to get a finger on the ball which slows it down enough for Rossouw to tidy up about 10 yards before the boundary
Virs : "This is some statement from SRH. Lost Head first ball and still strolling to 215.. hope the law of averages doesn't catch up with then in the playoffs." Arshdeep with his final over. He was 1 for 28 so far...
